Midsommar Portrait Session

Just in time to enjoy the blooms of Highland Park, The Fiddle Witch booked me for a Midsommar inspired portrait session.

As someone whose photography is highly inspired by music, I love the creativity and expression that comes with documenting musicians, both in their playing and in portraiture.

Flower City Fiddle aka The Fiddle Witch aka Alyssa is a Nyckelharpa musician based out of Rochester, NY. While we did not use her instrument in this session, the vibes still capture the whimsy of music.

After photographing Alyssa in the tulips, an older man stopped us and asked to see some of the photos. He asked, “How did you think of this pose?” So we told him about the flower crown of A24’s Midsommar, and he said, “I can tell you with certainty that no one else taking photos here today has gotten this shot.”

I am thrilled with how we were able to capture the vibes of the iconic horror film Midsommar. But what do you think? Did we nail it?
