One of my greatest joys is promoting authentic, vulnerable communication through artistic visuals. Through my abstract photography, I talk about my relationship with Jesus, my emotions, and the theme of exploring and understanding self and life.
This type of personal work allows me to explore my own creativity and the tools at my disposal. I so often refer to it as "playing" to those who I discuss it with. As an artist, creation is both a career and an escape in my spare time. I love pushing myself further through these projects.
Each of these photos possesses a name and commentary which you can check out on my instagram: @rachthecrouton7
I’ve had the privilege to photograph several bands such as The Swooners, and (through Floated Alternative Culture Magazine), bands such as The Demos,, Gringo Star, Humble Braggers, Boy Jr., and more!
I truly enjoy working with and promoting other artists through my own creativity! Each new venue is a new opportunity to explore angles and lighting, as well as capture the energy of the performance.
Here you will find a mixture of shots from senior portrait sessions, Explore Rochester events, and personal shoots.
I view each photoshoot as a new opportunity to push myself, and I love exploring angles and shadows.
I currently work with Floated Alternative Culture Magazine, photographing shows and creating the occasional graphic.
During the summer of 2017 I had the privilege of being a design intern for Hikyoga.
During this internship I was given the opportunity to produce food photography, product photography, posters, info graphics, and much more. Here is a small sampling of the work I produced.
All photography is mine except the photos featured in the infographics.
I participated in meetings, helped at events, operated within a brand, and worked directly with the owner and founder, Nicole Kazimer.
Uniquely You is a makeup company I named and designed for a student project. The company targets women 18 - 40, encouraging them to be authentically themselves and try makeup they might normally shy away from.
For this project I created illustrations, Magazine Ads, brand identity guidelines, and GIFS.
For eight weeks in the summer of 2017, I had the privilege of being a design intern at Sharp Notions.
One of my assignments during this period was to rearrange graphics for various social media outlets. Upon receiving the graphics, here are the solutions I came up with.
Here are a collection of illustrations I have done for classes and personal projects.
For Graphic Design II, the class competed in designing posters for Blackfriars Theater. My solutions for that are featured here.
You will also find a portrait of the band Twenty-One Pilots, a stamp design, some simple sketches that tell stories about my life, and some anime-like fairy tale illustrations.
The anime-like illustrations came from a student project in which we had to create a twist on a fairy tale. I changed "Arabian Nights" to "Arabian Fights," introducing a handful of other fairy tale characters all fighting over whose story is the best.
For my personal sketches, I was inspired by Curtis Wiklund, a favorite illustrator of mine. I had significant moments I wanted to capture as he does, and I wanted to push past my perfectionism, so I explored a new style.
I also had the opportunity to work on concept sketches and in-film sketches for a local short film, Pastime, by Nathan Mancini.
For my Graphic Design 2 class, we had to re-brand "Free Leaf Artisan Tea."
I chose the colors, designed and hand-lettered the logo, created the brand identity booklet, produced a die line for each colored box, printed them out, and mocked them up.
I designed the brand to appeal to both hipsters and those who prefer the contemporary. I wanted the aesthetic to be artistic, organic, and clean.
For a student project I redesigned album covers for two of my favorite singer/songwriters.
All photography and design is my own other than the "Eden" logo.
This was a student project for Ad Design Class. For this project, we picked a Nike clothing line to create GIF banner ads and a landing page for.
I used only original photography.
This was a student project for Advertising Design Class. I named the lotion brand, designed the logo, and designed the direct mail piece.
This is a student project from Ad Design class. For this specific project, we were given a fake client to work with.
My client was opening an ice cream shop devoted to sundaes. He needed help with a name, a logo design, Instagram and Facebook ads, and an email blast.
His parlor would offer gourmet flavors, and he wanted it to be inviting to families but also feel sophisticated.
This is what I came up with. I picked the color palette, the typefaces, created the logo, and developed the design layouts.
The photography is not my own.
This was another student project for Ad Design Class. For this porject, we had to create 3 environmental advertisements for Dunkin' Donuts, specifically advertising this deal on cold drinks.
My solution includes original illustrations and an original tagline.
Here are various student video projects of mine.
I have always admired videography and cinematography, and I've loved exploring it myself.
Here you will find a sample of my work from two separate assistant wedding photography gigs.
